About Us/Our History

Our heritage as plumbers in Colorado dates back to 1916 when Archie Lanyon became a registered Master Plumber. Charles Lanyon, one of Archie’s three sons to become plumbers, and his wife Rose moved to Wheat Ridge in 1954 to start their new company Lanyon Plumbing and Heating. Charles ran his business in Wheat Ridge until his death in 1986.

By 1978 Charles had trained his son, Steve, who then moved to the Eagle Valley area near Vail and opened another branch of the family business. The Vail area was a great opportunity for Steve to learn High Country Plumbing and Heating techniques. In 1988, Steve and his young family, moved back to the front-range to be closer to family and Steve began a new business. He picked the name Blue Sky because it describes the weather and environment of Colorado so well.

Blue Sky has now had four generations involved in the business. Our team of over thirty highly qualified individuals maintain the same principals of quality work, honest dealing and family values, that were set forth by Archie Lanyon over ninety years ago. We do what we say we're going to do and we will always be committed to providing our clients with the highest quality service.
